Italy successfully defended their Billie Jean King Cup crown. Jasmine Paolini and co beat USA in the final – Jazzy was unbeaten throughout, winning three singles matches and one doubles. It was nice seeing 17-year-old Tyra Grant with the team in China.

Félix Auger-Aliassime married the love of his life Nina, who is an equestrian, in a lovely ceremony in Morocco which is where Nina’s father is from. Nice spread in Vogue documenting the whole thing.

Gaël Monfils announced he will be retiring at the end of 2026 season – La Monf said he is “tremendously at peace” with his decision. We look forward to celebrating his career throughout the whole of next season.

Laver Cup also happened – Team World, captained this year by Andre Agassi, won. Yannick Noah captained Team Europe. Tournament founder Roger Federer caused a bit of stir with his comments on court speeds.

Beijing (WTA 1000) happened. Last year’s champion Coco Gauff got clipped in the semis by eventual champ Amanda Anisimova. Can Anisimova maintain in 2026?  Gauff and Madison Keys have locked in their spots for the year-end finals in Riyadh. Paolini and Sara Errani successfully defended their doubles crown – pair have also qualified for the WTA Finals.

Men currently in Shanghai (Masters 1000) – Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard registered a huge win over Taylor Fritz and Gabriel Diallo benefitted after David Goffin retired. Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton both got clipped in round two.
